Borneo Orangutan has dark reddish fur and no tail.Inline with hte growth of age, adult males develop a cheek to form a cashion. The older, bigger cheek pads so that his face seemed grim.

This area is dominated by lowland forests plant such as jelutung ( Dyera costulata ), ramin ( Gonysttylus bancanus ), meranti ( Shorea sp ), Keruing ( Dipterocarpus sp ), and rattan.
Endemic and rare species found in protected forests of Tanjung Putting National park, among others, orangutan ( Pongo Satyrus ), bekantan ( Nasalis larvatus ), red monkey ( Presbytis rubicunda rubida ), bear ( Helarctos malayanus euryspilus ), and jungle cat ( Prionailurus bengalensis borneoensis ).
Some locations / attractions to be visited:
- Cape of Good Hope. It is the first station in the rehabilitation of orangutans. This location is located in secondary forest and swamp forests that are equipped with guest house, information center and the road trail.
- Pondok Tanggui. Orangutans are still observed in a closed and avoid contact with humans.
- Camp Leakey. Founded in 1971, located in primary forest and is home of several semi-wild orangutans to the wild and from the newly born to age three years (the old king).

How to reach the location:
- Jakarta-Semarang-Pangkalan Bun (plane) or by ship Semarang-Pangkalan Bun. With land vehicles from Pangkalan Bun to Kumai about 20 minutes (8 km). Furthermore, from Kumai to the Cape of Good Hope using klotok for 1.5 to 2 hours, or Kumai - Natai galangal for 4-5 hours.
