Wakatobi the Beauty of Coral Islands is one of Indonesia National Park. Wakatobi National Park has a vast area, about 1.39 million hectares. located on Regency of Buton, South Sulawesi Province Indonesia.

How to reach Wakatobi to see the Beauty of Coral Islands

• From Kendari to Bau-bau with regular fast ship every day  two times with the long journey of five hour or with wooden boat ship for 12 hour. From Bau-bau to Lasalimu with car for two hours, then  aboard by speedboat  Wanci Lasalimu for an hour  by  wooden boat or traditional boat for 2.5 haour
• Wanci is the first gate into Wakatobi National Park Area.

Wakatobi National Park has the potential of marine natural resources that both types of high value and uniqueness, with stunning panoramic underwater. In general, sea water has a flat configuration from the start until the sloping towards the sea, and there are some areas that have steep waters. The water depth varies, the deepest reaches 1044 meters with a floor of most of the sandy and rocky.

This national park has 25 pieces with clusters of coral reefs around the coast of coral islands along the 600 km. More than 112 coral species from 13 families including Acropora formosa, A. hyacinthus, Psammocora profundasafla, Pavona cactus, Leptoseris yabei, Fungia molucensis, Lobophyllia robusta, Merulina ampliata, Platygyra versifora, Euphyllia glabrescens, Tubastraea frondes, Stylophora pistillata, throchelliophorum Sarcophyton, and Sinularia spp .

Fish species richness of this national park which is owned as many as 93 species of fish consumption and trade of ornamental fish such as Argus spots ( Cephalopholus argus ), takhasang ( naso unicornis ), pogo-pogo ( Balistoides viridescens ), napoleon ( Cheilinus undulatus ), red fish ( Lutjanus biguttatus ), baronang ( Siganus guttatus ),Amphiprion melanopus, Chaetodon specullum, Chelmon rostratus, Heniochus acuminatus, Lutjanus monostigma, Caesio caerularea , and others.

In addition there are several species of sea birds such as goose-brown stone ( Sula leucogaster plotus) , kettle melayu ( Charadrius peronii ), king prawn erasia (Alcedo atthis ), also there are three types of turtles that often landed on islands in the Park: hawksbill turtle ( Eretmochelys imbricata ), turtle jars ( Caretta caretta ), and turtle(Lepidochelys olivacea ).

The indigenous people who live around the Park is the tribe called the sea or the Bajau tribe.According to the records of ancient Chinese and European explorers, said that boating humans are capable of being explored Merqui Islands, Johor, Singapore, Sulawesi and the Sulu Archipelago.From the whole human boating in Southeast Asia that still have traditional boating culture is the Bajau tribe. Seeing their daily life is interesting and unique, especially diving into the ocean without any equipment to spear fish.
