The standard was necessary to create a new automotive technologies become more environmentally friendly, efficient, safe and effective.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) continues to develop standards related to electric cars and hybrid cars as well as make adjustments to the latest developments taking place. Among the standards developed are standards covering safety against electrical hazards, energy storage systems 'on-board' that can be refilled, and protection against failure.
