Energy Savings Targets

Energy saving is a short-term solution that benefit directly in energy management.
The benefit that includes in-lowering costs, improving environment value, national security and personal safety as well as comfort.

Therefore are at least four stated goals related to energy savings.

First, put a halt to the use of limited fossil energy, energy efficiency help reduce the use of fossil fuels are like coal, oil and gas that has a dominant role. Fossil energy , a type of non-renewable energy, a time will run out if they continue to be exploited. By saving the use of  fossil energy, the government could save as reserves in order to maintain national energy security.

Second, reducing environmental damage. energy efficiency is the solution to reducing greenhouse emissions and environmental damage. Currently, most of energy used in Indonesia comes from burning fossil fuels that cause pollution and greenhouse gases cause global warming,climate change and environmental degradation.

Third, reduce the burden on government subsidies for fossil energy use.
Government of Indonesia on 2011, spend energy subsidy of  260 trillion rupiah  , consisting of fuel subsidy of 170 trillion, electricity subsidy  90 trillion rupiah. Estimated that energy subsidies in 2012 could approach 300 trillion rupiah rate or higher than the energy subsidy ceiling is set about 225 trillion rupiah. Therefore, the efficient use of  energy to reduce government subsidies , so that funds can be allocated to other energy conservation efforts such as investment development of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency technologies.

Fourth, give the advantage to the users of energy. Using energy efficiently direct impact on reducing the costs incurred by the use of energy. Industrial goods and services become more productive and competitive if the cost of energy consumption can be reduced.
In the household sector, saving energy also reduces the cost of the electricity consumption of a household. The funds can be allocated for other things such as the cost of daily necessities, the monthly school and health costs.
