The Types of Hybrid Vehicles

In an effort to make energy savings in transportation, technological developments have produced a vehicle called hybrid cars. A hybrid vehicle is a car powered by an engine assisted by an electric motor. In hybrid vehicles, the electric motor helps the engine to help fuel consumption at star up and acceleration.
This means that compared with a conventional car of the same size, hybrids are cheaper to run.

There are three different types of hybrid vehicles today :

1. Pararel Hybrid, where the engine is the main power source to the electric motors provide the necessary assistance.
Engine serve as the main power source. The electric motor is only used at low speed, and the engine and electric motor work together at higher speeds.
The electric motor powers the vehicle from a standing start and at low speeds. As speed increases, the engine and electric motor work in combination to efficiently provide the required power.
The system is more complex. showing the power split and generator. This machine is also needed to power the generator.

3. Hybrid running on power from electric motor.
Engine only powers a generator to charge the battery.
The system is the same as powering vehicles with electric vehicle, but also because the vehicle has an engine, it considered a hybrid car.
